Gilt-edged Security

Government securities and bonds, usually with a low interest rate. Considered safest investments, as the government security is free from default risk. Originally such certificates were edged with gold and hence the name.

Gilt funds

Funds that invest exclusively in government securities of different maturities. The credit risk is virtually absent and there are no chances of government defaulting on its payment obligations. This effectively reduces the yield on them.

Gilts/Government Securities

Securities created and issued by the Central Government and/or a State Government, and may include securities unconditionally guaranteed by the Government

Global Funds

Mutual funds that invest in stocks of companies from all over the world
